How Banca Transilvania used TikTok Smart+ to boost engagement and drive more qualified leads

The Objective

Banca Transilvania set out to raise awareness around key online safety principles, like creating strong passwords, identifying scams, and protecting personal data. The goal was to educate a broad TikTok audience in a way that felt fun, natural, and aligned with the platform’s entertainment-first approach.



The Solution

To do so, Banca Transilvania launched an interactive online quiz lead form with simple and relatable online safety questions, and used incentives to drive people to complete the quiz. The campaign featured a full-funnel approach with impactful formats like TopView, following with Traffic and Lead Generation to capture user's contacts. To make activation more effective, Banca Transilvania launched Smart+ campaign to leverage new TikTok automation capabilities. Partnering with relatable TikTok creators we managed to create a buzz surrounding the quiz, while by leveraging TikTok ads we amplified the reach and aligned with platform culture. Influencers introduced the quiz through playful challenges and trends, while educational points were subtly integrated into content




The Results

The campaign delivered strong results across both awareness and performance KPIs: - TikTok Smart+ delivered a 7.7% lower cost per lead vs. other platforms (on equal spend). - It generated 7.1% more leads and achieved a 38% higher conversion rate vs. non-Smart+ TikTok campaigns. - The TopView format alone saw a 43% higher click-through rate compared to previous Banca Transilvania TopView campaigns. - Smart+ campaigns also achieved a 1% higher view rate than comparable non-Smart+ activations. This campaign is a powerful example of how banks can use TikTok to educate audiences, build trust, and drive measurable business outcomes.
